silencer ring

hi guys, i just bought a 2000 3500 reg cab 4 wheel drive 5 speed saturday and was wondering if these have a silencer ring in the turbo. and if removed does it make a big difference in the sound, also i assume it is right in the front of the turbo in the intake side. what does it take to remove it? thanks alot. i like the doodge already and i have only had it 2 days!!:

It makes some difference in sound. to really hear put an aftermarket sir filter in there. Remove it youll will need a flathead screwdriver to get under the snap ring that holds it in place. takes about 5mins start to finish

I did it to my truck you couldnt really tell a difference until I installed a BHAF.

But, you take off the intake tube and right in front of the turbo fan there is a little ring.

Grab a flathead screw driver and pop it off and install the intake tube back on and your ready to go.

It doesn't increase hp, get you better fuel mileage, or anything like that. ALL it does is make it sound AWESOME !! Change your intake and exhaust a bit and it'll REALLY scream !!

Mine came without one and I didn't really notice a difference until I put the BHAF on. Now it screams when you even get 5psi of boost and sound like a jet after about 15 or so
