Hydroboost Question..

Has anyone ever experienced a loss of power steering fluid from the hydroboost unit located behinds your master cylinder? Mine appears to be leaking between the hydroboost and the master cylinder. I am wondering if there is a seal in there that can be replaced. I called the Dodge shop and of course, they want to sell me a whole new hydroboost and master cylinder for $650. I am thinking a $.49 o-ring would be a better investment if there is one in there.

I payed about 250, plus a $60 core for mine at Autozone, and it has been working well. I know someone out there makes a seal kit for them, but I don't remember who. I was going through about a quart of power steering a week, depending on what I was doing.

So you just bought the hydroboost? Or did it come with the master cylinder too? That doesn't sound like a half bad solution compared to $650 from the stealer.

Sure does make mell of a hess under there doesn't it? Not to mention mama ain't none to happy about the mess in the driveway. The "marking it's territory" line quit working after a week.

As said above just go to autozone or any parts store and buy anew one there will be a core .
This is a common thing, hydro boost has been around for awhile and this happens.

it didn't come with the master cylinder, but it was all really easy to change out. Had it done in about an hour and a half. The inside bolts can be a PITA, but mine were all easy. hope this helps:Thumbup:
