is it possible?

would an 01 auto come as an ho? we were having some problems with my truck last year and thought maybe is was a computer so we called around and were able to borrow one from a yard that had one as we had bought 2 trucks from them and it turns out from what we were told it was an ho computer code?? turned out it was not a computer problem but a bad ground for the lift pump from what I remember.. but was just curious if the truck could have been and ho and how you can tell:shrug:

Not a chance, your 8 digit of your VIN number would be C if it was a HO and 6 if regular 24valve. HO's only came behind the 6spd. Unless somebody did the swap, which has been done; but unlikely someone had one for sale.

I agree with Phily I haven't remembered to look when I was near an H.O. but I thought the 8th digit was a 7 on the H.O. but I could very well be wrong about that. Point being that the S.O. is definitely a 6 on the 8th digit, if you have anything else, it shouldn't be an S.O.

But once again like phily said, not a chance, unless someone else did the swap, in which case, they probably knew a little somethin somethin about these trucks and would've put in an upgraded trans.

I'm not sure now that you say that, I know I've seen a C or a 7. I'm not sure now.

I'm not for sure where I saw a 7 at now that I'm looking at Autotrader. I could have swarn it was a 5.9 HO 2nd Gen, Common Rail or even 6.7 and I can't find anything.

EDIT: Alright it might be a 7 or C, I've only found the 7's on the 2wd. Wierd...........
