helppppp....diablo sport power puck help

i just bought my 1999 cummins 3500 with the diablo sport power puck in it. and i was wondering if one you hook it up its already putting power to the motor????

or is there anyway to tune it.

and if you have one does it make your truck smoke? (thats what i want)

"The Power Puck remaps the fuel delivery of the diesel injection pump and advances the injection-timing curve.

The PowerPuck software works on changing the injection quantities an advancing the ignition curve, it will not alter the load pressure directly. The load pressure is increased due to the increase in fuel volume delivery. This in itself makes for an extremely reliable tuning device with one sole purpose, POWER!

PowerPuck equipped vehicles will notice significant improvements in drivability, whether it is in town, where speeds constantly change, or on the highway passing slower vehicles.

Power Puck increase’s power through the entire RPM range, at low RPM it will yield better throttle response; and help maintain speeds on inclines or when towing. The mid-to-upper power increase is extremely useful on the highway to maneuver through heavy traffic situations.

Stackable with Predator for a variety of performance levels"

This is what their website says. It also states it is 50/150 hp and torque...if it advances the curve and remaps delivery as it states then it should make it smoke...

"and i was wondering if one you hook it up its already putting power to the motor????"

What do you mean by this???

like in first gear it smokes alittle when i get on it. but i was expecting more smoke. and what i ment was...it says tunable on the powerpuck. so like does that mean as soon as you hook it up and stuff does it automaticly make 50 hp or do you have to do somthing to get it pushing the 50

The way that they describe it its a straight 50/150, so if its plugged in right then it should get somewhere close to 50, but who knows what your really getting out of it, and by that i mean its prolly lower. They go on the fact that 1 truck dynoed and hit they 50/150 mark with it, not all trucks will get that. It sound a lot like an Edge EZ. If it doesn't tap the pump then you wont get toooo much smoke.

If you want a lot of smoke go with something that taps the fuel pump...you'll get a lot more that way...the Smarty will give you some but not as much as something that taps will...
