Advice

I just installed an AEM Workhorse air filter and now my EGT's shoot up under small loads and i haven't even tried pulling a trailed yet. The truck's got an Edge EZ box and a 4-in exhaust otherwise stock. Any advice on getting the temps under control?

Setting you EZ back, bigger turbo, or water injection.

Check for any boost leaks. Or the filter is being too restrictive. The EZ is all timing and no added fuel, that won't mess with EGT's too much. And he doesn't have enough fuel to warrant a bigger turbo, or meth, not to mention meth is dangerous.

I'm guessing something isn't quite right with the filter and its not letting in as much air, Which in turn would increase EGT's.

How high are your EGT's getting? Where is the prob. Located?

Do you have that Mesh screen over it? Some of those filters come with a mesh screen over it to last longer i guess.

your truck is messed up i would look for a hole in an intercooler boot because your truck does not seem to be capable of getting real hot.

:agreed: I agree also, I had about the same setup, and I couldn't push it to 1300* if I tried, and that was with some heavy hauling, and a whole bunch of hills in the middle of summer. Oh, and high altitude

thanks for all the input, i've checked through everything and can't find anything, just don't understand the temps going up over 1000 now when before with the stock air box it never got over 900. I'm planning on installing some 300HP injectors, a FASS system for extra filtering and fuel, and straight piping the exhaust to help get rid of the gases alittle quicker. Any thoughts on where to find injectors or potential trouble areas in these upgrades? Thanks.
