Is the Smarty worth it???

Ok I have 98.5 Dodge mods in Sig. I just installed my FASS 95 and I want to chip it. I would go wit the edge but I don't want to tap the pump wire. So my question is, is the smarty worth the extra $250 more than the superchips?

From what I understand the Smarty is Awesome on the manual trucks with a set of sticks and a ADD. It will only net you about 60hp with throttle response is suppose to be quicker. DB on here has one, have not seen him post in a while though.

Got a Smarty back in January and have been happy with it for sure. Run it on no-timing settings with my Edge Comp.
For sure you notice most the throttle response improvement from a stop...more smoke, too:Thumbup:

Dodge '94 RAM 2500 4X2 (mine on 12/1/05) with 160K. No Silencer Ring. 4" Straight Pipe w/ 6" Silverline tip. K&N; KDP tamed; #5 Fuel Plate and star wheel turned; 2" level kit; Autometer Guages; Clearance lights and fog lamps added; Tool Box; Cooper 285/75/R16.

'01 2500 Cummins 4X4: 118k miles; Edge Comp; FASS; new torque converter; Suncoast trans; SMARTY; 150hp injectors; 5" mitred stacks; ProComp 315/75/R16...

No, its not worth it. But everyone here already knows how much I hate the smarty.

If it were my money, I would buy a Van Aaken V5. It provides the same amount of power, doesn't tap the pump wire, and should cost less then $425.

if i had the extra cash i would own one. a friend of mine has a smarty on his common rail and he loves it. they give you so many options when it comes to stacking them as well.

No the V5 is for VP trucks.

The C 3.1, C3.2 and C5 are for the Common Rail trucks.
