Heated seats Wiring

The heated seats in these trucks only work with the key on engine running. I was wondering if there is a way to wire it so they would work with the key on engine off? Or if someone has started there truck on fire doing this?

Sorry I can't help, but I'm envious because I don't have that luxury. I'll definitely have them installed when I put the leather seats in, but that will be a while down the road.

My seat Heater finally broke. Anyone have the part # for the heater portion that goes under the leather?

Negative here, but eventually.......... I'll aquire the breakdown of parts on these. Are you sure it wasn't the switch? You can take apart the switch and test that out yourself, if you haven't already.

No it's not the switch. The seat and switch have a self diag feature. When the high led blinks it's telling us that the heater has a open ckt (broken wire) and to replace the heater element.. My high led is blinking on the left switch.
Might just have to cough up the money or go to a junk yard and get a new or almost new seat. oh well christmas is coming.

Never knew the switch would blink when the heater doesn't work. That's nice. The 2nd Gen's with heated leather are rare, they are hard to find for sale let alone in a junk yard.

How much is a new seat threw Dodge?:sofa
