I think I'm going to have some trouble!!!

Well a friend of mine bought a new truck last night. He bought an 06 f350 at fx4. Until now I had the fastest diesel in our group of friends, maybe because there are only 2 diesels in our group but anyway, he org. had a f150 with a hypertech tune ram air hood that went into his intake and flowmasters, I always smoked him whenever I had the chance.laugh

Should I be worried now that he got the powerstroke? He has already asked me what to do to it to make it faster, I told him I would have to look around. Which is what I'm doing now:

99 2500 dodge cummins, HTS auto trans, quadzilla/edge ez, edge stage 2 nozzles, HX40,special X pump, big line kit, custom dual filter intake, custom exhaust, holley blue, adjustable boost elbow, new intercooler boots, t/c lock up switch, suncoast t/c, leveling kit, new 285 bfg's, all the gauges. New TPS

Chip it and hope it doesn't break. I wouldn't be too worried, even if he builds it up you'll have a faster truck more than half the time, cause it will be in the shop. Actually I can't say thats true for all of them, but my friends that had 04's and 05's all had lots of problems with them.

A trans, some bigger sticks and a charger will keep your truck on top of his no problem.

Well I looked it over pretty good last night and found an oil leak from the head, he took it back today and the dealer said they would fix it free. Not looking so good for the ford/dodge fued in the group, plus he paid 37k for it, I didn't pay but 13k for mine with the snow plow, so I'm doin better in my book:Thumbup:

Hmmm... I'm not very knowledgeable about Ford or Chevy's but I know one thing for sure...

"The only thing that runs good on a Powerstroke is the owners mouth!"

(From a bumper sticker I saw - all the kidding put aside now)

I think in the long run with the toyz you got I think you still got the edge on him yet!

That makes me feel better, I just don't want to be out done. His truck may be newer and in better condition but at least mine doesn't equal a house payment.

I can't stand being out done by just the fact of money, he won't do any work himself, to me I just couldn't be proud of something that I don't have a little bit of blood and sweat into

I just can't justify spending that much.........but then again if I had that much to spend.........I might consider a mega cab.

I bought my truck for about ~$32,000 and my monthly payment was about ~$300 a month... Even I can do that easy!

The best part is the truck is paided off and it MINE!

Funny part is my Dad worked for GM (Van Nuys, CA.) and he could get custom truck made for me if I wanted... But even for a base line Chevy Diesel it was $45,000.00 roughly even with worker discounts...

So I remained a MOPAR MAN to the end!
