Transmission problems

My 02 Cummins has had 3 transmission cases crack and im wonderin if any body konws what might be causing it it breaks where the transmission and transfer case go togeather.:smoke

First off, welcome to the site.

Thats odd. I haven't really heard of that one, especially not 3 times on the same truck. Are you missing a cross member or anything like that? Is your truck stock or do you have any mods done to it? What are you using the truck for? Also, which transmission are we talking about 5spd, 6spd or auto?

Agreed, on behalf of the Auto's. The manuals could be a different story. But of all the problems the auto's have. Cracking the case is one I'm yet to run into. Ford and GM's will crack cases before the 727 type tranys will.
