Problems To Look For

I'm looking at a 03 2500 cummings quad cab short box, it has 53k miles on it and everything is completly stock and no 5th wheel. What are some problems to look for when searching to buy this truck?

If it has an auto tranny, I would scrutinize. Check condition of tranny fluid. And take it for about a 15 mile highway drive, then back into to town for some stop and go. Pay close attention to consistency of tranny operation, especially after its good and warm. If you can, stop by a reputable shop and have them check for codes, and do a datastream analysis. Of course, as with anything, look for indications as to how well the truck has been maintained. Good luck:Thumbup:

Codes you could do yourself...

Now you need to check for fuel pressure...

If you have ScanGauge II you could do the datastream yourself...
