Bunch of random questions please help

OK Just got my ford 6oh sold and its time for a cummins but I have a few questions because all i know are fords lol. Please dont hurt me!

-What is the VP44 and what are its functions?

-What is the lift pump and its functions?

-Are these similar to the FASS i put on my truck?

-Can a sport bumper and go on a non sport?

What are some things I need to look at when buying a used cummins!

Thank you.

A VP44 is the injection pump found on the 24V dodges from 98.5-2002. They are prone to failures. A lift pump pulls fuel out of the fuel tank and delivers it to your injection pump, a Fass is a after market lift pump. Yes you can put a sport bumper on a non sport. Look for all of the things you normally would, expecially condition of the transmission if it's an auto.

Just put of curiousity, why would you go from a 6.0 to a 24v?

Why not look into a CR there is just so much more you can do with them right out of the box...

Well I like the non cr motor better. and what i have been looking at they are cheaper. and I wanted to save some of the money from my truck sale and put it into mods and do a slight build up.

If you want to go to a Sport Bumper you will need Sport Bumper, Sport Lights, and Sport Grille...

I havent found any kits or anything but if you'll notice their is a big difference in the bumpers...

Here is the 94-98 Sport (basically they OEM bumper in that color):

and here is the 99-02 Sports:

If you dont want to paint your bumper then you can try to find the old Sport Bumper it will direct bolt on...but I think that the new bumpers look a million times better!
