high idle

called doge today to get a price on a reflash and getting the high idle for my 01.. he stated it's not available for an auto. So I went to mopar mans site and

Models: 1998 1/2-2002 BR/BE Ram Trucks

NOTE: THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO ALL RAM TRUCKS BUILT AFTER DECEMBER 17,1997 AND EQUIPPED WITH THE 24-VALVE 5.9L CUMMINS DIESEL ENGINE"

so what do I tell the dealer? I need a reflash due to possibly having a superchip stored in the computer. My edge on 6 does not work think it's over timing the vp and thats not good

01 quad cab 4x4, edge drag comp, 4" exhaust, fass 150, 250 ddps, Jefferson State compounds 683hp so vp 11.91. AMSOIL front to rear. now back to stock 95 fummins in the works

Tell them that you have re programmed the ECM with an aftermarket tuner and that you want to return to stock settings...and if the say thats not possible tell them to go get re educated...not really but try to call another dodge dealer...

they can do the reflash but it wont have the high idle.

01 quad cab 4x4, edge drag comp, 4" exhaust, fass 150, 250 ddps, Jefferson State compounds 683hp so vp 11.91. AMSOIL front to rear. now back to stock 95 fummins in the works

then re flash and tell them to activate high idle or find someone with a SMARTY...

well I found a auto shop that can reflash and save me 10bucks so gonna do that and see if they have the option or like you say find a smarty. Thanks for the help

Print out the TSB and take it with you to the Dodge Dealer and have them set appointment. Because it only a few steps...

7. Connect the DRB III to the vehicle without connecting to MDS2 and follow the menu structures it appears below.
8. MAIN MENU - 1998 - 2002 DIAGNOSTICS
9. 1998 - 2002 DIAGNOSTICS - ALL (EXCEPT BELOW)
10. SELECT SYSTEM - 1 ENGINE
11. CONTROLLER TYPE - 1 CUMMINS (ECM/ENGINE)
12. SELECT FUNCTION - 1 MISCELLANEOUS (Misc. is on second page)
13. 3.3 CYLINDER IDLE - Follow the instructions
The DRB III will indicate whether the feature is enabled or disabled.
14. Push 1 to Enable, 2 to Disable.
15. You are instructed to cycle the ignition to complete the repair.
16. Press Page Back to Exit.



They don't need to flash nothing that just got to ENABLE the software! :


Like I said before and I'll say it again... If you can program it with a Smarty in less than 2 minutes why would a Dodge dealer need to flash anything??? If you need to read the directions to the tech...

thanks. I was just trying to get this while I was getting computer set back to stock
