If I had those kind of problems with my injection pumps, I would have just converted to a P7100, those are just as tough as the Cummins engine itself.

Yeap... you NEED a FUEL PRESSURE gauge...

Quote:
1296, 308,216, 612
P0216 is the death code for the Injection pump...

P0308 Cylinder #8 misfire... (I don't think so... We only have 6 cylinders! )

P0612 - NO LISTING!

P1296 No +5V to MAP sensor.

So more than likely you going to need both a new lift pump and a VP44... Also you might re-scan it and verify you number because some of these don't quite work???

116K Miles On My VP44 - 4 Years of 2 Cycle Oil Diet! - Mixed at 128:1 Ratio - 25.3 MPG maxed out!

P0612 is Fuel Injector Control Mod Relay Circuit. Gasser code just like P0308. Could have something shortin out in your ECM.

I agree if your a do it yourself kinda guy it can be done for less than 2 injection pumps
