Dash Removal

How hard is it to remove the dash...i got more cracks in my dash than what an addict would have...im thinkin about goin to the junkyard and pullin one out of a truck there or is it easier to just buy one of those dash covers that fit right over the top

I've heard there is a cap replacement you can put on top that bind it all back together and covers the broken areas...

I put one from the junk yard on my son's 95 and it's been holding up fine for the last 11 months. I just got one for my 01, $50 at junk yard. Somebody started to take it out and quit. I only had to remove 4-5 screws on the back side of the dash. I will put it in when the weather warms. The 01's are easier I think because the screws are easier to get to. I'm attaching a thread I found someplace, this should help. Use a mirror to help locate the screws on the back side of the dash by the windshield or look thru the windshield. I think there are 4-6 screws you need to remove. The defroster duct work can stay on the dash top cover. You do not need to completely remove the dash. Only loosen the bolts at the bootom of the dash and pivot away from the windshield like in the photos.
