fuel pressure during idle

Just installed edge juice with attitude on the truck.

Fuel pressure while idling is like 11-12 psi?

Is this normal?

Just is a lot lower than my ford was.

Sounds low, idling should be around 15 to 20 psi I believe. Mopar1973Man has an excellent write up on his website; mopar1973man.com.

That is correct...fuel pressure at idle should be around 15-16psi. No more than 20psi, and should never drop below 10psi. If your fuel pressure is 11-12 at idle, its probly dropping into the single digits while driving-acceleration = more fuel demand = dropping fuel pressure.

When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? Its possible your filter is REALLY clogged, but most likely your LP is weak...Lucky for you, you may have caught it in time as not to have ruined your VP44 yet....

Anyway, start by changing the fuel filter, and if that dosent help, you need to replace the LP...should get a better one anyway. Most guys on here have either the Air Dog or FASS system, or like me, I have a Holley pump and system I put togeather for about $150 bucks...works great.

Hope that all helps!

My truck wants to be a semi when it grows up...
