map sensor

ok im wondering what symptoms i will have if i have a bad map sensor?

Well usually a error code and CEL light will come with a MAP sensor problem. Lack of power...

Error Codes...
P0234 (M) Turbo Boost Limit Exceeded Problem detected in turbocharger wastegate.
P0236 (M) Map Sensor Too High Too Long Problem detected in turbocharger wastegate.
P0237 (M) Map Sensor Voltage Too Low MAP sensor voltage input below the minimum acceptable voltage.
P0238 (M) Map Sensor Voltage Too High MAP sensor voltage input above the maximum acceptable voltage.

i assume the the lack of power can come and go if its just starting to go out?

1999 ram 2500 cummins turbo diesel, 5 speed, exhaust brake, quadzillia xzillaraider 120 stacked with superchips d-box, k&n filter, glowshift gauges, tripple pillar pod, fuel pressure, egt and boost, muffler delete pipe, boost elbow, mia silencer ring, airdog 150

Well the best way to find out if the MAP sensor is to use a Live Data Scanner... Something that allows you to see the actual boost pressure value from the sensor. I would suggest ScanGauge II but I know it doesn't report the right value...:
