Batteries?

OK...Heres the deal...Everytime it gets below 30*F or so if I dont plug the Cummins in it WILL NOT START and it gets annoying...I bought new Batts in JAN 07 granted they are EverStarts, but they do fine in the summer no problems...New Alternator last Feb...Could there be dead cells in the batts that wont hold charge when its cold or whats the deal? I have always been told that when it gets cold and not plugged the engine draws batts power to keep warm...:

Your engine doesn't draw power to keep warm. I would just go have the batteries tested and if they are bad they should either be under warranty or replaced. When trying to start a truck cold it takes more amp draw and if your batteries are already messed up it could be close to impossible to start your truck. There are also truckle chargers that a couple poeple I know use on their rigs that are plugged into the winterization that continually charges their batteries when plugged in to allow them to stay good and strong.

Are the batteries dead when you get in the truck, or are they going dead from trying to start it? Just wondering if maybe your grid heater is shot. Just a thought.

Either you got a bad battery, or something drawing on the batteries...

Wal Mart batteries suck. They make good paper weights. Just go back to Wal Mart get them swapped out. These Cummins start super easy with normal batteries. You know that Nathanal.

Wal Mart , Autozone, Advanced Auto all have batteries made by Johnson Controls, but they are made to different specs. Autozone's Duralast Gold is by far the best. (Or at least this was the case years ago.) Extremely odd considering about everything else in Autozone is junk and Autozone is a extremely corrupt company in the upper management area (CEO's, Divisional MRs, HR Managers, etc .)
