exhaust pipe

what is the best gauge pipe to use for a 4in. exhaust? found a site that sells all kind of pipe at a good price, do not need a high dollar exhaust.

I'm pretty sure that 16 Gauge is the norm

If you go with anything less than 16ga you are throwing away your money.

do a 4" downpipe then go to the closest big rig shop, get 4 or 5" pipe, get a 45 degree and bring it out infront of the rear wheel then get a piece of chrome exhaust, cut it to match as its coming out of the truck... also just cut the hangers off the old exhaust and weld them onto the new one.....it sounds AWSOME this way

I did something of that sort when I had my 02 cummins except i used a 90 degree, it looked nice a 45 would've been nicer though.... downpipe + adapter to go from 4-5" + 5" exhaust pipe cost me a total of $400 still had lots of extra 5" and I got the tip from a buddy for free

I hope you had a muffler on it. I don't disagree that it woud sound awesome, but when I had mine straigh piped behind the rear axle you couldn't talk in the cab. It was fun to set off car alarms though.

Known as a 'Shorty Exhaust'...This is what Source Auto Says About it:

You'd better like it loud.

Turbo pipe includes heavy duty flange.

Exhaust systems come with a 24" muffler included, but you may choose to substitute the muffler for a 30" delete pipe if you wish to straight pipe your exhaust system. *Straight piping a shorty will be VERY loud.*

This system MUST be welded in due to specially made fittings and placement.

We 'afro rigged' one up on my buddies 12v when we put his stacks in it b/c we didnt need the pipe, and it was redonkulous!!!! I wish I had a video of it...
