injector pump or electrical?

2000 24v when you floor engine with no load smokes right away like pump is not advancing correctly.Like the 12v when they were cold.No miss at idle or high rpm when engine is increased normal.Under load engine has normal power than just looses all power and boost. Then if you let up on accelerator and step down again boost and power comes back and the cycle starts all over again.I changed lift pump still the same.188,000 mi on truck.

Have you checked it for codes? Also are you running gauges, mainly fuel pressure, and what color is the smoke?

Smokes white like timing is off.Like the early 12v when the engine was cold.Fuel filter was changed and new factory lift pump.when engine looses boost you can feather the throttle and you can barely hear engine rpm change with the throttle but absolutely no power or boost until you completly let off the step down again. No smoke during this whole process.Could it be TPS assy? But if it was wouldn't my trans drop out of lock up and O.D.

I bet money if you checked for error codes JL Welding is going to be right while your seeing P0216 error code... Which is typeical when white smoke is present. (lack of timing)

But What cause this failure??? Hmmmm....

I bet if you check your fuel pump is dead or dieing...

Check for error codes...
