oops

Well I was driving and forgot to latch my hood after working on it and well, my hood flew up. Now my mounts are bent to hell. Anybody know where I can get some new hood mounts? this sux.

At least you didn't crack the windshield,dent the roof, lose the hood,and run into the back of someone!

Well by mounts, I mean hinges. Ya at least i didnt bend the hood or hit anyone, I am so pissed at myself right now, such a bonehead mistake. So are you saying all those things happened to you earl?

Not me, my buddy has a 82 cutlass looks like mine but 10 times nicer 383 stroker all built up. He forgot to clip his hood pins. The hood flew up broke his windshield, cracked his cowl hood and tore the hinge mount (fiberglass hood) luckly the road wasn't that busy at the time!

Got to ask youself about the safety latch??? Why did it do it job of holding the hood?

It didn't do its job because I forgot to completely latch the hood in ITS ENTIRETY! It didn't even catch the safety latch.

01 2500, quad cab, 2wd, auto, 132k, turbo rebuilt good as new by htt , and 0216 code for 1 1/2 years now. Airdog 100 fuel system after 3 stock lift pumps.

Not that un common of a mistake, I've done it before but my safety latch saved my ***.

To answer your question, hood hinges are something you have a good chance of finding at a salvage yard. You have a real good shot at finding a 94-02 Ram 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, or 1 ton. I'd try that first & maybe save some $$
