I really liked my AFE. Worked great for me, and is still working great on my buddies 01. The only reason I got rid of it was it didn't work with the twins. It did move a lot of air though.

Yeap... Mine has over 100K miles on it and the filter is still clean. I don't have to wash it, blow it off, vacuum it, oil it or anything... It just works. BHAF are cheap too at $40 buck @ Vulcan Performance...

I removed the stock airbox & attached a large K&N cylinder filter to the hose. I get a HUGE amount of air with this setup.

Then if BHAF is not a choice I suggest any kind of dry media filter that is not washable. Most people dont wash the element properly and get dirt and grit on the inside of the element. Not to mention all washable filters mist be closely inspected for holes in the media. If you see a pin hole that is a entry point for dirt.

This is one of the few reasons I love the BHAF is because when it does get dirty I just toss it out in the trash... But being mine is over 100K miles now in might be a long time till I get to the new on sitting on the shelf...
