Chip/Programer?

Ok so my dads buddy has a 2002 24v auto and want to get a chip or programer for it. So what do you guys recomend. The truck already has a 4" down pipe and BHAF. Thanks for any info.

I'd say either a Comp w/ Gauges or a Juice w/ Attitude b/c the Attitude is the gauge moniter...but something he can adjust on the fly...he deffinitly needs to keep an eye on the Fuel Pressure..

Most will say edge juice w/attitude simply for its proven power, reliability, and digital monitor. However before your buddy does that, he might want to look into beefing up his tranny and doing something with the stock lift pump like air dog of fass.

Edit: Hccummins kentucky doesnt look too bad

Like these guys have said...You can't just put a chip on these trucks. You need gauges, auto tranny upgrades, and a new lift pump. besides that i agree on the Edge...either the Comp with gauges, or the Juice w/attitude.

It's terrible. It really doesn't matter what you drive, it matters if you're going home with chicks or not. Nates doing better than most of us, or least me. :

Well he wants the gauges in the pillar and I dought he will spend the money on the juice/attitude. What trans is in these trucks is it the 47RE or not I think he is going to get his trans built when I get mine built very soon to I cant want. Why do you need to monitor the fuel pressure so much more in these trucks? Thanks again.

He could run a Comp on Level 2 or 3 and be fine on his transmission...as for fuel pressure the Lift Pump on these trucks dies easy and then starves and kills the IP (VP44) and its pretty costly to fix...pick up a Pure Flow Raptor 150 for 399 and solve that problem...

Well he's definatly not going to run it on level 2 or 3 he is a 47 year old man that act's like a teennager So what you are saying is then he needs a four pillar gauge pod then right boost, trans ,egt, fuel psi.. Any rough ideas on a price for the comp?

New 650ish...used I've seen 250-450...The is also a 'Drag Comp' that doesnt de-fuel untill like 3600 i wanna say...and they say you will get 140 horse outta it...I've never seen a 4 pillar gauge pod for our trucks, prolly have to go 3 A Pillar and one on the steering wheel...

I know where a good edge drag comp is used but pulled out because truck went back to the bank. He wants 350 shipped for it. Works great.

01 quad cab 4x4, edge drag comp, 4" exhaust, fass 150, 250 ddps, Jefferson State compounds 683hp so vp 11.91. AMSOIL front to rear. now back to stock 95 fummins in the works
