New intake Horn.

I just threw this together the other afternoon. Hopefully it helps a bit. Ran about $70 bucks for materials and shipping since I couldn't find them locally. What do you guys think? It calculates out to roughly a 57% larger inlet diameter, and I'm hoping that the smoother curve allows for better airflow as well. I'm also thinking of going with that color or a similar color of blue on the twins plumbing and my extra valve cover as well. And I may get rid of that weld seem too. It looked pretty cool when it wasn't in painted form, but with the paint I'm not sure I like it so much.

I like it...

But how about the oil dip stick... Is it just hanging now? (Srug smiley)

It is just hanging right now. I am going to put a tab on it and put some ports in as well for various things, boost, IAT, Possible spray in the future etc... I just got impatient and shot it with a coat of paint so I could see what it would look like.

Hmmm... I'm curious if there is a actual HP increase for these intake elbows. If so how much of a gain do you figure?

Looks good, does this mean your transmission is done then?

The tranny is done. However, I just noticed that the new output shaft seal I installed has a tear in it. So that seal has to be replaced before I install it, and I'm looking at my options for addressing the flex plate while I have easy access to it.

As for the HP gain. I don't think there would be a real noticeable gain, but I have heard and suspect that it will help with spool up and clearing up bottom end smoke. I've also heard you can expect about a 100* drop in EGT's.

I plan on trying to make about 5 or more pulls on a dyno once I get this thing all back together and have a little road testing done. I want to run it with the small injectors and the big injectors, and at least 1 combo with the new horn vs. the stock horn. I'd be interested to see if the easier breathing helped with MPG at all too.
