Power steering pump/Vaccum pump

So the seal between the two has been leaking for some time now on my truck, i've been going to fix it but you know how working outside in winter is. Point being, today i drove my truck thirty miles give or take and then shut it off and went into the store. came back out fired it up and pulled up to the highway to turn out when i noticed an unusual sound. It kinda sounds like the vac pump but at the same time it sounds like an engine noise. When I pulled over to check it out it sounded like it was coming from above the two pumps but with the motor running it was hard to tell, and when you drive off it goes away maybe being the engine gets louder or it just happens at ilde? Have any of you had or heard of somehting like this before?

Try resealing the vacuum pump. Its a really common problem and not that hard to fix. Get the kit from Fixinrams.com Works like a charm. Or maybe give them a call and see what they say.

What exactly do you have to do to get to it? Do you go in from the top or the bottom?
