Injector holes

What size are 24V injectors from the factory/stock

I've seen aftermarket in 6,7 & 10 hole options.

I was just curious as to what stock ones actually are? 6 hole?

Also are the ones with more holes a stock tip from another application? or are they custom made by bosch?

Stock is a 7 hole. I'm not sure of the hone size. As for other injectors, some are custom made by various different companies, and some are other tips that have been modified. The schied 6x.012 are I believe a modified tip from a mack application. But many companies use a stock blank and EDM a new hole pattern into them. 8 holes are also common. There are other factors that play into the injector function as well, pintle lift, internal fuel gallery modifications etc... I'm really not too up on those though, so I can't tell you what the differences are.

Thanks for the info. That was about all I needed to know....

I had no clue if some AG apps used a 8 or 10 hole injector and thats how they came up with those.

Also curious as to what process some of these big companies use for their tips?

I know Industrial injection used to at one time have their injector tips EDM
DDP from what I know is extrude hone ?

Has II gone to extrude honed tips?

90% of companies are getting there nozzles from the same source, DDP is Extrude Hone and II is EDM. The 8-hole nozzles are cheap knock-offs, often known as the Jammer nozzle, quality isn't the greatest. Many people will alter hole count and size via EDM and Extrude Hone, the biggest variable is the way they are assembled. Agricultural nozzles use a differnt design, Sac style vs VCO(valve covered orifice). I think this is one area where people should be asking more questions, and getting better answers, after all, it's your money.

Now there is a guy I bumped into on ebay that is selling 5 hole 24V injectors. They are from what he says stock. I was buying up a bunch of 12 & 24 injector cores to send off to be edm modified and noticed when taking the injector bodies apart that I couldn't tell much difference from a 12 to a 24V tip. Im guessing the physical tip its self is the same but the spray angle is different?

No 24v nozzles are 5-hole.
