'02 Cummins Question

I have a buddy with an '02 cummins and he is looking for a box for his truck. I found an Edge Drag box in the dodge parts section and was wondering if anybody was running this box, or a comp box, stacked with a smarty. I don't know much about the electronics on the 24V, so please be patient with me.

The comp for sale would be an excellent choice. However, an aftermarket lift pump and gauges are needed.

He already has an Airdog 150 on his truck and gauges are on there way, so he is covered on that part of it. How would running this box on his truck with thestock trubo do. I assume really smokey and high EGT's.

Actually the EGT's aren't too bad as long as you aren't WOT all the time. I pull most big hills @ about 900 deg. pre-turbo. Not too smokey with the stock injectors, really only in between shifts is when i notice much smoke.
Unless you try to make it smoke!

I agree 100% Edge makes great power & inproves milage also (as long as you can keep your food out of it) But like he said you will need gauges & a good lift pump like a FASS or AirDog. Also if its an auto start thinking about some upgrades like a valve body & TQ converter. If its a standerd trans start thinking about a clutch.

Edge Comp / Edge Drag is a excellent box. I've got the Edge Com pand it does wonders for a mild fueling bomb to the truck. It improved my MPG's and the passing power is unreal.

As for stacking with a Smarty you will need to update your tranny (manual/auto both). If you don't it will slip for sure.

Already working on the tranny part. He is already slipping a little bit and is having the tranny completly gone through, so he thought he would just finish it off I don't know how good of an idea that is, but oh well, not my truck.

Gotta get an adapter from Edge...01 and 02 have a different Map Sensor, something w/ Oil Pressure maybe idk for sure. He will like the Comp/Smarty stack thats what I run...its good and it'll make some smoke if he wants too, but on 8 and 5x5 I can go smoke free normal acceleration oooorrrrr make traffic stop
