Tap or not

99 in sig has 92K miles. At 91K gauges went in and had 11 psi @ idle and 6 @ WOT but just cruising about 9-10. Have a comp to put on and was wondering if tapping the VP will kill it any quicker. Still original VP. Raptor on now so FP not a problem. Thoughts. Thanks.

But there are limits right?

I guess...but you gotta live...w/ that low of miles and a Raptor I dont see a problem...I ran 60k miles w/o a upgraded lift pump...but then again The Black Sheep is a freak of nature...

I would go ahead and tap it. The odds of it killing the pump with a decent pressure supply are extremely low.

How much difference in power is there by tapping the pump wire, vs not? With either a Comp or Juice box?

Feels pretty strong, even without a tapped pump wire.

w/o the wire its an EZ...and imo its not that great...but I have been bitten by the tapped bug and I know what Im missing...to the untrained eye it might feel like 200hp..

Yes, but it still lags in the bottom end.

Feels like an extra 40-60, not 200 to me. Having the '97, I know the difference. The manual trucks feel different than a built auto as well.

With those pressures you'll kill the VP44 without even having the Edge Comp... With it I bet you could pull close to 0 PSI... So yeah tapping will for sure kill the VP44...
