Ok pulling the trigger

Buying 2500 1999 24v 5spd 4wd 132,000 miles tommorow. Questions:

1. How will the new fuel affect this truck,if at all.
2. Should i put a larger air in-take in it right away.
3. Would like to improve mileage, how?
4.truck is completely stock what mods should i acomplish and in what order.
5. It has a 53 block, should i back out or panic or what?

1. the new fuel will do nothing to it, if you want add some 2cycle or a good additive.
2. an intake will help a little with power, mileage and will support with future mods.
3. a small box like a edge ez, exhaust and intake. Lite on the skinny pedal
4. see above
5. depends, not all but, most 53's will crack. What is the price on it?

Couple of thing to check, see if it is the original L/P, I/P, if so they are going to die soon. If they are original and you have to replace the I/P it will cost about $1k. The blue book on that truck is like around $7k, so it is up to you. I would check those two things out, you don't want to replace them right out of the gates.

The 2nd Gen leather trucks are hard to find. But you can find a fully loaded 2000 maybe even a 2001 w/ that many miles, for that price.

Yeah the price seems a little high for a stock truck. The 53 block I wouldn't worry too much about. When you look at all the applications that 53 blocks saw and the number that were imported and used. I think its roughly 5-10% that cracked, and they usually did it around 100-120k, so you aren't completely in the clear, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a 53 block truck.
