little please... indicator

i have a 02 dodge 2500. couple of days ago i had a alarm put in. well i got in my truck to leave i notice that when i put the shifter indicator in drive it went further then usual.. well i told the guy that did the alarm and he said it was like that when he pulled it in which i know it wasn't like that.. so when the shift indicator is in p it is really in r. when it is in r it is in drive.. does any body know what it would be the problem???? please help

There is an adjustment if you drop the little kick panel under the steering column. Thats where the alarm was installed on my truck. Quite possible that they bumped it trying to get the alarm in. Drop it down and you can see how to adjust it. I don't really remember cecause I've only done it once.

2000 2500 reg. cab 4x4 auto 577hp
09 6.7L QC LB stick, 4x4.
