Best oil?

Anybody have opinions on the best oil to run with temperatures that drop to around -30? I know amsoil and shell rotela are good but what weight?

Yeah it is mainly the extreme temperature that I'm worried about...starting it cold at -30F can't be good.

I run Amsoil synthetic 5w-30, it was recommended to me by Bill who used to be a supporting vendor on this site. So far I love it, I only have about 2,000 miles on it or so but my oil is still a copper color.

I always run a little thinner oil in the winter usually a 5 -30 or straight 30. Helps otherwise they turn reall hard at those temps.

5w30 Series 5000 Amsoil. Bill Crow sells it on here, just don't ask him questions. ISB's will start in -10 degrees w/o the wait to start light w/ 15w40. I'd say 5w30 should treat him alright. I would still try and plug it in whenever possible.

Yeah Phily my truck is winterized with dual battery blankets, oil pan heater, and block heater. But there were a couple days last year that I couldn't plug it in, luckily it was only about 10*F.
