Red face 2.6 class? VGT's oh Yeah!

Ok guys got the trany issue resolved, now for some fun. I'm wanting to run the 2.6 class this summer at schieds, I have a 2001. I'm shooting for 750-800 hp, without mechanical injection. My bottom end is pretty strong I bought Dan Painter's old truck. However its pretty well stock now. I have an HX 40, ATS manifolds, and a locker. How would you guys go about getting that HP for this truck on a budget. I'm a gas ouller htis is my first real step at building a diesel truck. Obviously air and fuel are the issue, what are your thoughts on a set of DDP 150's, dragon flow pump, and fms. How close would this get me, possibly a turbo that would spool up a little better on the bottom end. Also I had this wacked out idea about a VGT turbo, could it be controlled similar to a govoner on a tractor. Using wieghts and springs to controll the veins based on the speed the impeller is turning??? Lots of questions, virtually no nohow. I may be an idiot but what are your thoughts?

not sure about the VGT turbo...but as for the other stuff...I think you'll want to look at bigger injectors to hit 750-800hp...maybe DDP Comps...and with the extra fuel, you'll have better spoolup..good luck

Budget and 750-800hp on a vp don't really go together. The above mentioned combo will probably get you to about 550hp, with a lot of heat. Contact chris or Weston about injectors. You will probably want a 7x0.014 with .010 lift. 2.6 class will allow you to run a 66mm charger, and you will definitely want that.

As for the VGT. You can control them with a wastegate actuator. If you're using a Holset VGT, it can doesn't actually change the veins it changes the volume of the nozzles that move the exhaust across the veins. I believe Fleece makes a 66mm wheel for the vgt though. Or you could figure out how to make the stock hardware and controller work for it, but no one has yet. Its probably pulse width modulated and running either a square or sine wave.
