What to look for?

Looking for a 2000 - 2002 Dodge 2500 4x4. What milage should I expect and what do I need to be aware of looking at these trucks?
Thanks in advance!

Lift pump failure is common. Takes out the fuel injection pump when that happens more often not. LP was dead on my '99 when I bought it last Feb, but so far the VP44 hasn't croaked, yet.

Check for worn trackbar/ball joints/tie-rods ends/steering stabilizer(s) - (like you should check on any truck anyhow)

Don't know if a 2000 would have a 53 block or not.

If you get a manual trans, it will either be a NVG4500 5 spd or the NVG5600 6spd. The 5th gear nut on a 4500 is a known problem. Likes to back off. Mine hasn't done it since I've owned it. Don't know if the PO did or not. Use OEM synthetic fluid in both.

OEM automatics don't like much power over stock.

Mileage is all over the map from what I've read. 14-21mpg range.

If Obama is the answer, it must have been a stupid question.
