Hey Mr Wizard / Dodge No Start

Hey Mr Wizard! I've got a 98 24 valve with a no start issue. Has good fuel pressure, will start if given a sniff runs excellent after it fires. Will start an hour later, but let it set over night it will roll but not fire. Intake heater working fine, No smoke at tailpipe, Changed fuel filter, No codes are shown! The guy I bought it from says it hasn't been run since June of 09,
Whos got the wand!

the 24v engines don't have the shutoff solenoid like the 12v engines.

Nate, And others --- Thanks for info. I originally had codes and cleared them all to see if they reappeared. Scanning again found 216, P-1689 P-0260 needless to say I guess I'll be needing a pump!

Do you know who's got A VP 44 for sale? Someone reputable?

Thanks Again!

Jeff

I run an II Pump, and I like it a lot...BlueChip also sells a good reman pump...idk which one is cheaper, you said you had good FP, are you running stock LP or aftermarket? II sells their IP and a FASS of your choice for a pretty good price...

I run a scheid pump and love it. They also have a great reputation as well. If you're just looking for an SO pump to get you back on the road for a decent price, check with
www.dieselautopower.com He has a good price on pumps and I've talked to a lot of people that have been really happy with his pumps and service.

When I did my VP44 I went with Blue Chip because of the great reputation he has for selling reliable pumps. He has 2 to choose from for the SO engines. The normal oem and the Special X VP44. I went with the Special X because it was only a few hundres dollars more plus had some aditional fuel economy and timing benefits. I will say I have been very happy since I put it in. Both pumps also come with the Bosch 1 year warrantee.
