24V Street Turbo assistance

I am cutting Chum down to a RC/SB and keeping her 2WD. I am already sourcing studs and injectors. I am pretty sure I'm going with ARP, just deciding on which ones I really need.

Injectors and turbo/turbos is still in the air. I would like to keep this project at $4500-5000.

My goal is 500-550 RWHP. I want to be streetable. I may tow occasionally but never heavy. This will see the 1/8 track near my house and the dyno.

I have some ideas on turbos and I'm researching compounds everyday. Compounds are looking good since they shouldn't lag as much as a large single.

I would really appreciate input from the folks that have upgraded turbos or went to compounds.

I made 488 with a 62 and 110 ddp's with edge juice with attitude and hot unlock. I think I needed more fuel. You can hit 500 with a set of 150's and a 62. It will be easy to drive and tow just fine.

01 quad cab 4x4, edge drag comp, 4" exhaust, fass 150, 250 ddps, Jefferson State compounds 683hp so vp 11.91. AMSOIL front to rear. now back to stock 95 fummins in the works

How was the low-end? This will only weigh 5500 pounds or so. I want to make sure it's good off the line.

I was running a 62/71/14 it can be a little laggy, but if your going to spool it and launch it you will not have an issue. I hear if you get a 13cm housing you will have better bottom but about the same top as the 14. Your going to be 1200lbs lighter than my truck is. at 488 I was running 12.92 but I had a loose converter so if you run a tighter one it will help. I am getting my trans gone through this week before the season starts. I used my 62 as the top charger in my compounds and now it's making 603 runs 12.38. running in 4wheel with 33's.

I turned 21
I would look at a 62/68/13SS for that kind of horsepower.

I'm obviously a newb on this. Can you guys give me a brand or model to look at? I know of a couple 62s.

My first thought was a Garrett PowerMax stage III; GT3788R with 52 trim comp wheel, 0.99 A/R, Comp mm/trim 88/52, Turb Whl mm/trim 72.5 / 78

This will be 2WD running an Allison 5-speed with a Precision converter.

mine is just a version of an s300. I would not go with that big of an ar as that will be some huge lag as a single. .85 is what the 14cm is and it's laggy. super b special or similar turbo.

So, something like an II Silver 62? I've seen those. I'm still learning and trying to understand the maps now that I can find more than just the ones on Garrett's site.

Do I need to keep the turbine or compressor A/R low?

I'm drawn to Garrett based on my Duramax.

Thanks for the help!
