from what I hear it's a idle to 2500 3 times to see for smoke and they to a visual check. just remove your edge and you should be good. yes it sucks but thats what california will always be known for smog tests. it's all about the carb money thats all

they are plugging into the obdII port on the trucks to scan for things like that.

Bummer... It was a thought. Then yeah you would have to pull your electronics out...

Could you run some B100 through it for that tank to get the test?

We have to pass smog here in mass if the truck's GVWR is more than
10,000 LBS. My ford 7.3L powerstroke dump has to pass it. My 01 dodge cummins 2500 don't need to pass emissions.

He has to take the egde out or make sure all your factory wiring is put together right, wrap the edge in black tape, and anyhthing inside like the attitude I would just hide under the dash, or just dispay your digital guages only and keep the edge off. You just really need to make sure that all your factry wiring is together so it don't throw codes and don't forget to erase your codes before you go in. Take it for a highway beat run and clear out the extra soot built in the exhaust. Other than that you should be fine. They can't tell you what you should and shouldn't have in the truck, As long as there is no codes, and passes the puff and sniff test you should be good. Play dumb with them if they ask anything about the stuff in the truck.
