First thing you want to do is put a fuel pressure guage in it because the lift pumps are a defective design and can't keep up with the fuel needs of the VP44 injection pump. You don't want to go below 10 PSI at all no matter what at full throttle. I have a FASS lift pump on my truck because the lift pump failed, shortly after the VP44 needed to be replaced. $500 ish for a FASS and $1900 for a BlueChip VP44. I did the labor. Front end parts, go with moog. Last the longest. Steering box, buy dealer only for the best tightness. Transmission bands need to be addjusted every 30K miles, tranny flush every 50K and filter with only ATF+4. Go with 4" as there will be better clearence and thats all you need for the truck to breath. I have MBRP cool duals 4" into a 4" y with 2 4" tailpipes. Or just a 4" single is all the engine needs to breathe. That is some basics for you to start with.

ok awesome, to tell you the truth its a 1999 and only have 56,000 original miles on the whole truck. Some older guy had it and he only used it to go to the grocery store since new. Never towed anything in its life. I got very lucky, and carfax shows all proper maintnece done by dodge every 5,000 miles.

So hopefully i dont gotta do much off the bat, so you dont think i need to get a 5inch? a 4inch would be better? what about the air intake and chip??

thankyou

4 inch is tight enough to get in and work on up by the turbo. I agree with the last dude, 5 inch is to hard to work with. Also is hard to find down the road. there really is no gain as well.

I'll give you what I got for bombs and then out come you deside...

* Gauges (A Must!)
* Edge Comp
* 3" Straight Piped
* BHAF
* RV275 Injectors

I'm pulling 21-22 MPG and topped out at 25.3 MPG's. My truck gets used for hauling firewood and skidding tress out of the woods. I also haul a 8x8 Trailer load too... So looking back at my fuel records my lowest record MPG was 14.1 MPGs.

He has a edge comp box.See if you get a comp box your gonna have to get gauges from auto-meter, glowshift etc. But if you get a edge juice with attitude like you said you already have the gagues and all built in.

Yeap... I've got the simple Edge Comp without all the toyz (personally think they are a PITA!) But I just run it wide open and drive like a normal human set my cruise for a normal 55-65 MPH speed limits here locally... If I make it down south to the interstate where there is 75 MPH I hang to the trucker lane at 65 MPH (Trucker speed limit in Idaho)

Also try to drive like you got no brake. Seriously! My brake pads are 162K miles original pads from factory (yes I've got a exhuast brake too). But I keep a good long following distance and try to coast to stops. Accelerate from stop gently and build to my set speed quickly and set my cruise were I can and it safe to do such. Reason behind this because all you brakes are doing is converting your energy of motion into heat on the rotors/drums. Why waste the engery let it take you to your stop.

Like my last fall trip to Stanley, ID I made 25.3 MPG... Take notice I avoided the interstates and took back roads where speed limit is much lower and could gain from the mellow speeds...

153,549 - 153,197 = 352 Miles / 13.915 Gallons = 25.29 MPG (Copied from my fuel logbook)

Also took notice to your air filter selection... Get a BHAF... Much cheaper don't require maintenance... My filter is 6 years old 106K miles and the filter minder still not moving. Yes my filter minder works too because I test it every maintenance period for finction. In my video I've got a outerwears but no longer... It wore holes in it... I yanked it off and keep going with the filter though... Also keep in mind I'm offroad 70% of the time here in Idaho the only paved road is the highway all other roads are DIRT!

As you can see I don't believe in spending big money on stuff but when the cheap stuff works just as good as the big boys stuff does...
