Scratch my head...

I've got a Frantz Filter on my truck as a bypass filter filtering down to 1/2 Micron... Run Chevron Delo 15W-40

I've also go a member that has NOT changed oil in over 70K miles now using a Motorguard Bypass filter and WalMart Universal 15W-40 engine oil and doing oil testing through Blackstone Labs...

Then I've got 2 members on my site that run standard ol' Chevron Delo or Retella 15W-40 oil for over 600K (1992 Cummins) and 800K miles (2001 Cummins)..

So why the flush?

Any time I want to flush a system and when I am going to remove an oil pan, or do major work I add a quart of ATF, or two. Use the vehicle for over 50 miles then drain. On class eights I add a gallon, ATF dexron #3 works for me, then I blow in shop air into the oil galley either threw the oil preasure gage hose or the compucheck fitting. Works for me, and ATF is nearly pure detergent, and still a good oil, I overfill it and do not race it or load it heavy.
