surging problem

I know this topic has been talked about before but I wanted to see what you think with my specific problem.

Used my edge with no problem till i bought a smarty, with the truck turned up all the way it surged a little under WOT then it started to get worse over about a years time. I thought my apps was bad so i changed that and it still has the same problem. I put the throttle percentage up on my screen and when it does it, it drops throttle % then comes back up and then back down. Is this my VP getting weak from the low fuel pressure before I owned the truck or is it a ecm problem?

2000 CTD, HOT Juice w/Attitude, Smarty, Mach 2 injectors (105 HP), 4" exhaust, BHAF, SB Clutch, FASS 150 ARP 12mm studs, stage 3 snow kit.

2008 f350/96 cummins in the works.

Try unplugging both units and returning to stock seeing if there is a problem...

What APPS sensor stock or Timbo's APPS?

Any error codes?

What your fuel pressure like?

I can turn my edge down on 0 and take my smarty off and it doesn't seem to do it, I think maybe cause the demand isn't as high. The APPS I got from Geno's. There are no codes except for an occasional over boost code. Fuel pressure never drops below seven.

Just put a new on one on there, can't see what the difference between manufactures would do with it. Stock turbo for now and HOT just gotta pay attention and not stay in it all the way for long.

correct me if I am wrong but from what you have wrote it sounds like you are stacking the edge and the smarty if so the chips could be sending the same signal and confusing your computer. So try to run the smarty or the edge and see if it still does it.

You are correct. It is stacked. running one at the same time or both together makes no difference. The only time it will not do it is with no smarty, stock on edge. So basically stock other than the injectors. That why i'm leaning toward my VP being old (175000) and not being able to keep up.

What level are you running the smarty at with the juice up when it surges. Almost sounds like a little too much timing but then again I could be wrong. Could be the vp like you said. I would be curious to see if a little more fuel pressure would help.

I'm running the smarty on 8, highest level with no timing. You think the low lift pressure is causing the thottle % to drop? I thought seven was plenty and i don't see how that would cause my problem, but thats why i'm here cause i dunno whats going on.
