Pulling engine on 01 2500 4x4 6pd

I am pulling an engine on a 01 dodge 2500 and i was wandering if anyone on here had done it before and had any helpful hints on how hold the enigne while pulling it out. I have a 6000 lb auto crane and i have done it before on a 12v. but i had the head off when i pulled it and i just bolted a chain to the block and did it that way. This time i dont need the head off so I am goint to be pulling it out with the head on. The back lifting eye is so far back i dont see a good way of getting a hold of it. I thougt someone on here might be able to help me. Thanks in advance.

The only way i can see it, is take the head off. I pulled a 12v a while back and that was the only way i thought of a safe way.

its farming season and its pulling season, a lot of us on here stay pretty busy...i only see one question (this one)...The only time i've been involved in pulling engines, we had the heads off...

well I figured out how to get it out with the head on. I chained around the manifold like at #5 exhaust port and bolted a clevis on the head where the throttle sensor bolts down and it worked great. Just to let yall know. Well i know how being busy is. I work 50 hrs a week and then side jobs. Like this dodge job and tractor work and then try to do my hobby stuff too. And have three kids to spend time with. That's why i wanted some info so it might not take me so long. But i got it on the first time. So sorry for being an ***.
