Transfer case

Whats it take to rebuild these cases. When i put my truck in 4 wheel it grinds and dont put any power to the front. i figure the chain is either busted or something along those lines. Any help would be appreciated.

My toys:

1964 B 61 Mack, Tandem tractor. 711 and a triplex. Needs a cab so if you have know where to get one in the northeast please let me know.

1986(dare i say it) Chevy blazer. It killed me to buy a chevy but its solid front axle, carburated and i got a good deal on it

2004 kawasaki kdx 200. dont get to ride often but its fun when i can.

Does it grind when going into 4low? Or does it do it when going into 4hi as well. If it is 4lo you have to turn the truck off to get into 4low or it will grind everytime trying to get into 4low

2005 Dodge 2500 Cummins Short bed 4x4 automatic, Rollin Smoke Diesel 5" STRAIGHT TBE, BHAF, Edge Juise w/ Attitude, way to many parts that one can wish for but never enough funds to keep up with the wishes

Ya your chain is probably busted. Dodge puts automatic transmission fluid in the transfer cases, it is not stout enough it gets hot and breaks down, and then evaporates. Opem your case and it will be dry. Not sure how much it would cost to replace one, probably around 750 to 800. Mine went out and I just pulled one off wrecked truck. And I would just put 40 weight motor oil in the new case so you dont have this problem again.

95 goat, 4x4, 5 speed, long bed, big clutch, tweeked pump, 4gsk, 370's, a good turbo, lazer cut dvs, twin 6 inch turn out stacks, gauges, BHAF, 353,000 miles still running strong

New Truck: 03 goat,4x4, 6 speed, long bed, blacked out windows, bhaf....smarty soon I hope
