Aftermarket transmissions

I know its a few months before i buy a d-max, but i want to get everything figured out. I'm going to use it for a commuter, and race on the weekends, its going to be haveing about 650HP when im done, what tranny is the best of the best, it needs to last like the energizer bunny, i dont mind paying a little more if i get more. A warrenty would be good to, i just cant afford a truck that sits.

I have had fantastic success with my Suncoast and recommend their transmissions highly. However, you are local to ATS so I would stop by and check out their operation.

You will spend at a minimum 5K for trans to do what you want.....

Suncoast 5 is $3082 for just the tranny, $995 for single disc converter & $1295 for a triple disc.

Ive heard mixed things on ATS, good & bad, the fastest Dmax is running a stage 5 ATS, also been quite a few that have bit the dust that we never hear about. Some people have been stiffed on warranty stuff & labor.

Im debating over a Suncoast 4 or a DTT since the closest tranny place is a vendor for them.

The difference between a IV and V is a V is a complete unit and comes with a warranty. The IV is in kit form.

I had great luck and great service from suncoast.

I threw 500HP to my stage 5 daily with the ocasional over 700HP on spray for 15k or so. C4 and 5 clutches looked perfect when I sold the unit and swaped the rear extension/adapter housing. Witch brings me to my next comment. IMO what ever trans get a transfercase brace. Suncoast sells em or make your own. If I would have had one maybe the *** end of my trans wouldnt have kerspoaded.

I enjoy flogging my Merchant built SC IV. Shifts are firm not harsh. As a daily driver you would have no idea it's built other than I run my PPE ET tune all the time without limp.
