You don't have to delete the Dpf if you don't want to, Spartan makes tunes that work with the existing system, i ran mine for a few days before i took everything off, it does run better with everything off cause you can then run the bigger tunes.

Spartan Tuned
AFE air box
4" stainless exhaust
2 1/2" lift
Tinted windows
Those nice heated leather seats
Sunroof
custom built charge pipe

A DPF Delete will remove the diesel particulate filter, this can not be done with a tuner of some sort. Spartan, H&S, SCT, DPF-R. Without a DPF delete there will be no change in exhaust sound, also there will be no black smoke with the dpf on. Some say tuner and dpf delete will help the mpg but not an extreme change. Dpf delete will help in the longevity of the 6.4. I'll post some more links up for more information. Your best bet is to search some the other forums if you cant find it here. Good luck.

Tuners can turn off the egr... what the tune does is the same as unpluging the egr on the 6.0... the valve stays closed and you get more low end power and less boost up top the... the physical block off just improves air flow ...I've heard that an egr delete is cab off procedure but im not 100% sure on that just yet.

The Spartan tunes do run with the existing system, it will still go thru regen and run as normal, agin these are the low tunes, yes you can run without the DPF but will eventually with the bigger tunes that shut down the regen, but sooner or later you will plug up the Cat.

just my two cents but if you are going to take off one, take them both off, not sure how long it would take to plug the cat if you leave it on but there not cheap. The DPF is suppose to be replaced something like every 125,000 miles, don't think there cheap either. like Sawed Off, just did mine earlier this year and wish i would have done it sooner also. But like I said earlier, if you don't want to take anything off now, Spartan has some low level tunes that run with the existing stock Ford equipement.
