white smoke @idle

08 110K on the clock has H&S mini Max runs great But smokes white at Idle.
Any input? bad injector?

08 F-350 crew cab Lariat 4X4 Dually auto 4:10 gears.

My guess would be coolant. Hope I'm wrong

Cmon problem on these is the EGR coolers start to leak. If it is white smoke, it would be either coming from those, or possibly a head gasket. If you don't have to do emissions, I would spend the $125 and get an EGR delete kit and see if it goes a way then. Also, to u can turn off the EGR with your tuner to see if that has any affect.

Turning off the EGR via a turner, will not prevent coolant from entering the cylinders. It will only shut off the recirculated exhaust.

Is this a steady stream of white smoke or puffs? Steady would indicate coolant, where puffs would be more likely an injector(s) failing. Also white smoke that does not exist under loading can point to injectors, or a minor coolant leak internally. What does the exhaust "smell" like? Does it have a sweet aroma, or oily? I don't condone sniffing the exhaust, but it's a good indicator.

I have not seen the truck yet But he tells me it is white/ blue and it goes away just off idle. Im thinking it is going to be a bad injector but Im not sure and im not sure hoe to tell what one if it is a bad one.

I like the sniff test to the exhaust as it will tell you a lot......

If suspect to be an injector, have them all rebuilt or exchanged. They wear together and replacing one on a engine with mileage just invites the others to give problems. I've seen one or two injectors replaced in an engine and it then misfire due to imbalance of fuel delivery.

That is not necessary true. When the regen process starts, it will use number 8 and 7 injector, thus there is more use on the two.
