Exclamation 1st 08 in our shop

well, we got our 1st 08 in the shop for a severe oil leak. Seems the oil is running out of the rear main seal in large quantities. Gonna pull the trans after lunch today and see whats up. Thought I would give the heads up if I see this often enough

Ok the rear engine plate was mis-machined in the seal grove and the oil was seaping past it. Hopefully this is not going to be a common problem but this truck was in the first run produced so........we'll see

Thats not a reason to consider it a failure yet. First run trucks are going to teeth a bit. The real factor will be within a year or so. Thank you for the report though.

Go Greyhound, and leave your luggage with us. *maybe not intentionally*

Ford doesn't need these right out of the gate though...If there are more like this, as there were with the 6.0 they'll be doomed...
