Warranty?

Anybody been on the build your ford website and seen the powertrain warranty? 5y/60,000. What is going on with that? Is ford hurting that bad that they have to make that bad of a warranty or am I reading things wrong?

I think the Powerstroke itself is still 5yr/100K, but the balance of the drivetrain behind it (trans, driveshafts, rears, axles, etc.) is 5yr/60K....at least I hope so.

Ya I agree that warranty sucks, Ive been pricing an 08 ford and chevy, The chevy has alot better warranty, is about 4000 less for comparable trucks, and the allison can me driven like a manual. I drove a 6.4 and was not impressed, my chipped 7.3 would blow it off the road. I really want a ford but it is gonna be hard to go that way

5 yr/100,000- no deductible complete powertrain, bumper to bumper same as ford
Deere Puller, I just went through the same thing... ended up with a Chevy w/ 0% for 60 months. I wanted a Ford bad as I had fords always before... but I was worried about he reliability of the Fords lately. Chevy's got the better deals right now IMO.

So the entire drivetrain (motor, trans, rears, t-case) is 5/100? Impressive!

Was the financing deal you got on a LBZ? Any idea when the deal expires?

Your chiped 7.3 might feel faster but its, not, A stock 6.0 and chipped 7.4 are about even, so your truck will not blow a 6.4 away, you also got to remeber your driving a brand new truck not even broke in yet.

Well to go alittle farther Im not really to worried about speed, I want soemthing that willpull a trailer good and if this 6.4 is anything like like the 6.0 I will not be happy. I had a 05 450 and it was a joke. I hope this new motor is a good one jsut like everyone else, becuase I really wnat a ford but the 6.0 was horrible, it was rated at 27000 and if you had that on it 65 to 70mph was max on a flat interstate ,while it was overheating and getting about 4 to 5 MPG, our semis get better than that.
