I chopped the exhaust off a 04 Ram w/HO Cummins, and it was so loud I couldn't hear anything else. One thing I have always wondered about mufflers is why wouldnt a muffler off a Chevy 6500 or Intl Med duty truck work?

How long did you run the truck like that and was the engine up to full operating temp? I don't know how international does it, but the dpf sensors are inactive until the engine reaches operating temp on our systems.

it would but why not strait pipe it all the way out the back? or just run a MBRP high flow muffler

04 Silverado 2500HD LB7/Allison, EFI live by duramaxtuner.com with DSP5, 4" MBRP turbo back straight pipe, polished 5" tip, 5% tint, riding on 285 fierce attitudes, many more mods....
