6.4 injector issue

when I dropped off my truck yesturday there was an 08 6.4 white crewcab sitting in the service shop. I had asked the service manager what was up with it, he said it had a run on problem when the owner would give it gas it would keep accelerating. When he brought it in the tech hooked it up, gave it gas and the rpms shot up, and would not come back down, he shut it off and needless to say it kept running and ran itself out of fluids..They said both the Ford guys, and Navistar guys were in there trying to figure it out and they have linked it to an injector problem...But that didnt stop me from going and looking at the one of the two they have! they do have a sweet dark blue super cab out back FX4 package......Sticker was a little high at $46k though

What fluids did it run out of? Hope it's just a minor glitch cause your thread made it sound bad.

I am just going off of what the tech amd service manager told me. The truck was already complete and waiting for pick up..it was NOT a major problem, but what the tech said is once they over run themselves and you shut them off it runs on the oil because the fuel supply will shut off with the key, it ran it self out of oil. It was not a catastrophic failure, it was a glitch with the injectors is what they told me..I myself have been in one of these and would love to own one...Just cant afford it...I am not saying its a terrible problem, and I didnt mean to step on anyones toes.. I'm just letting you guys know...

well due to no spark, and the truck over running the governor/limiter and when you shut them off the truck still has combustion so it will continue to run and use up the oil maybe not run on it, just run out of it.....thats how they explained it to me...happens in big rigs too...

I would buy one of these in heartbeat but I just can't justify the price at this time...
