Just wanted to say hi....stumbled across the forum looking @ the straight piped 6.4. Really cool site ya'll have here. Look forward to diggin' deeper!

I had a 05' 6.0 CrewCab lariat w/ 6in Fabtech lift w/37's on 20s that I loved but recently traded for an 08' FX4. Love the truck but not the mileage, hope it will improve soon!

Wish it would :smoke ;:

Welcome to the Garage. Good luck with the new truck. My grandpa complained about the milage too, untill it was totaled yesterday because someone hit him. The salesman "claimed" it would improve as the truck was broken in. Hopefully you'll find out, along with his new truck, will improve.

Welcome, Lots of interesting reading here at TDG. Your mileage might not be good yet but at least fuel prices are cheaper than unleaded once again. I'm paying $2.69 a gallon for ULSD around Fort Worth, TX.

Seconded from another new guy!

In the next few weeks I'll be picking out an 08 and a Crew Cab SWB FX4, Red on Black with 20's would be my ideal truck. We'll see what I find though...

Your milage will get better. My truck went from 12 to 14mpg in just 600 miles. I'm very confident that it will continue to improve for several thausand more miles. If it still drinks gas after 10-15k, then go get it checked out. Diesels are unlike any other engine.

The mileage will get better with time. Keep driving it and enjoy it. Pics are a must..we need pics to drool over. Welcome to TDG as well.
