I would like to know myself... can you buy the color mirror from the dealership or is it aftermarket? how much does this go for...? its not a whole new mirror assembly is it, bc i know the mirrors on these trucks arent cheap due to them telescoping...? thanks

Its just a cover. Comes unpainted so you have to find a place to paint them. My brother said it was 106 total. i think they are 40 a piece plus paint so 106 sounds about right. its only the top 1/3 of the mirror. If you look on fords website at pictures of a king ranch or FX4 you will see which portion it is.

I just want to know how to remove the existing piece to replace it with the body color piece!

here is a picture of what you buy. They match the oxford white perfectly, its just the surface they are sitting on makes them look a little red. my brother said Ford has 3 different white colors for 08 so you need your VIN number so you can give the paint code to the paint shop!

I tried the same thing, only w/ chrome caps.
UNLESS you have painted or chrome on the truck now - then bad news.
The entire back of the mirror is one piece. I know it looks like the top 1/3 is a seperate piece, but it is not. Took mine to Ford dealer to have chrome caps installed, they took mirror apart and showed me the back is 1 piece.
Sorry 'bout the bad news - can't be done unless you already have chrome tops or painted tops currently!
Here is my thread about it:
