Question CB Radios

Has anybody here mounted a CB in their 08's yet. I am trying to figure out where to put one and I would rather not just throw it on top of the dash. By the way I have a King Ranch with a center consol. Any Ideas or pics would be much appreciated!!!

I mounted mine directly under the steering wheel and it works very nicely there and looks good. My legs clear with no problems. I also wired it to one of my upfitter switches which is awsome. No need to adjust volume, sqelch or anything else, just flip the switch.

I'm kinda of a newbie to this stuff but why do you need a cb radio in your rig? I do know law enforcement uses them

Basically they're the best traffic report possible. If you're goin into a big city radio ahead and get all kinds of info, traffic, weather, construction, where the cops are hiding, and the best thing when driving a 6.4, where the cheapest ULS Diesel is. Found places just a few miles from where I normally fill up that are .25-.30 cents cheaper a gallon.

Law enforment doesn't normally communicate on open CB channels. They've got a whole list of other frequencies they use. These are just channels designated for free public use with a broadcast restriction of about 3 watts, I think.

I use to always have a CB in the truck, have not had one for a few years, but thinking about getting one again. Also just gotten into listening to scanners, good way to find out whats happening.

There's that and some of the things you hear the truckers saying will make you die laughing. They are not conversations you want your kids to hear, but they're out of this world funny.
